Meet highlights from the "Fun Meet" in Lumberton

The meet was a blast!  We would like to thank the staff and parents at Lumberton Gymnastics for putting on such a fun meet!  Your hard work was appreciated!
Micaela Hayes won the Uneven Bars, and Balance Beam, helping her clinch 1st in the Overall Category, and got a great trophy!  She also got 2nd on Floor Exercise with a 9.05, and 3rd on Vault.  Not bad for her second Level 8 Meet!
Cassidy Shoun won the Uneven Bars at her 1st Level 6 Meet, first on Vault with a 9.075, and received second overall, and got her score to move up to Level 7!
Salem Davidson at Level 5 won the Uneven Bars, third on vault, and got second in the Overall Category!  Salem is on to Level 6!
Roxy Roessing won 2nd on the Balance Beam, 3rd on the Uneven Bars, and third overall!  Way to go Roxy!  She got her score to move up!  On to Level 6 for Roxy!
Emani Bradley competed Level 4, and was the only competitor in that division today.  Emani received a medal on each event, and a nice trophy!  Emani is on to Level 5!  Awesome job girls!
Thanks to all those who participated & donated for our "Flip-A-Thon!"
We raised over $7,500.00!

What does my child need to wear?

No chewing gum, No bobby pins, No Jewelry!  No shoes or socks while in class.  (Shoes and socks get lost in the pit).
Please send your child in proper attire, appropriate for gymnastics.  Shirts must be tucked in!  You can't see if you are upside down and your shirt comes over your head!  Leotards, new & used, are available for sale at the gym, and strongly suggested.  Hair must be tied up or pinned back.  No hair clasps that will stab you when you roll on them!  Hair ties or flat clasps are the best!  No denim.  No food/drinks inside practice areas.  No skirts of any kind, or "skorts."  Wear comfortable clothes!

If you are a cheerleader, or would like to be, don't wait until a month before tryouts to take gymnastics.  Start preparing now for next year's tryouts & be the best that you can be!

 Fact:  Many cheer coaches will not pick a girl if they do not have at least a back handspring.  If you do not have a back handspring, you need to come to the gym at least once a week for 6 months.  We guarantee that you will have it in 6 months, if you come every week.

WHY GYMNASTICS?
::::

Fact: Gymnastics is one of the few sports that improves all three areas of physical fitness: Strength, endurance & flexibility.  Even if your child doesn't want to become an Olympic Champion, he/she can still benefit greatly from participating in gymnastics.  Gymnastics improves overall confidence & self-esteem, balance, & coordination, as well as all three areas of physical fitness!  "Flipping is fun exercise!"
