Study these virtual images posted in random order, to help you
with the following skills!

Full twisting layout, also called a "full."  These are terribly easy if you have 3 fast back handsprings to a good rebound, a good tuck and a good layout.  Notice how she reaches UP before she turns.

Another view of the "full."
Simple!  We have over 40 kids that can do it!

Giant Swing:
Look at the ARCH at the bottom of this swing!

Giant Swing:  another view.  Look for the ARCH!

Free Hip Circle:  Look at the distance of the gymnast from the bar, and the HOLLOW position.  There is NO ARCH.

TAP Swings, notice the arch at the bottom.

Vault entry:  Notice how she leaves the board with her chest up, and arms!

Front Handspring, Front Tuck:  Notice how she looks at the ceiling on the handspring landing, and takes off with her chest up.

Back extension roll:  Look for the "candlestick" position.

Front Hip Circle:  Notice the straight body position to begin with, then the PIKE at the end of the skill.  Enter with straight body, travel around halfway, then PIKE!

Back tuck:  Notice how the gymnast reaches back for the handspring, and UP for the tuck!

Kip, front hip circle, cast:  Notice how the ankles come to the bar before the kip, the legs are straight, and the body is HOLLOW in the cast.  Straight arms throughout.

Aerial.  Easy!  Just push off one leg, and reach for the floor with your foot instead of your hands.

Flyaway:  Let go of the bar with your ARMS BY YOUR EARS!

Double Flyaway.  Don't worry, we will have access to our pits soon, and lots of you are ready for this!

Kip handstand:  Notice how much she leans forward while casting!!!

Roundoff back handsprings, REBOUND!
We have learned that the REBOUND is the SECRET KEY to getting HIGH TUCKS!

Handspring, flyspring:  Notice how it appears she looks at the ceiling on the landing of the 1st skill, and then hits a handstand!  This series has two handstands.
